Now days, the younger generation (my generation), uses this word “thirsty.” I can’t even lie, I use to use it myself. That was until I took a step back and asked myself, “what the hell is being thirsty!?” Okay let me break it down for those of you who may be unaware of what this means.
According to the urbandictionary.com, thirsty means “too eager to get something” or “desperate.” Put this definition in the context of dating and I’m sure you can put two and two together.
What happened to the days where people actually pursued each other because they were interested and weren’t ashamed of showing it? Having fears of being looked at as “thirsty” is socially holding us back in my opinion. I mean, that’s part of the human experience! Talking to one another, getting to know new people…etc.
Now believe me, I know it can be quite annoying when someone is trying to pursue you who you’re completely uninterested in. I’ve been there plenty of times. BUT—just take it as a compliment and let them down easy.
Lets get rid of the word thirsty and just know that it’s part of human nature to want companionship. We’re all the same and want the same things in life. We all want great chemistry, mind blowing sex…we all want LOVE!
With Chocolate Temptation Pride in DC coming up, lets keep an open-mind and not be so “stand off-ish.” Lets embrace one another whether we see each other as associates, friends, or more.
TEAM NO MORE THIRSTY 😉
