Jack’d, Grindr…etc

Well–from my experience in using gay dating apps, most of the users seem to be looking for one thing and one thing only–SEX! Yup, and it can be extremely frustrating if you are looking for something with a bit more substance in the midst of all of these “digital hormones” haha. You put all this effort into creating a nice, descriptive profile to give off the best representation of yourself possible–but how can one really compete when the next 10 profiles a filled with nothing but shirtless and seductive photos?

With that said, about a year ago I decided to end my personal journey with the online dating world. I’ve been meeting people online since I was 17 and it has gotten me NOWHERE. By the way, I’m 26 now. Although I haven’t had any social experiences online that are really worth bringing up, a part of me feels like there ARE guys online and on apps who are looking for the same thing you are looking for. Finding sex is easy, but finding the love of your life takes patience.

There is nothing wrong with exploring apps for dating, however I do not believe that you should spend the majority of your dating life on an app! You need to get your ass off your couch and go out! And don’t be afraid to go places without your friends. In fact, you’ll look a lot more approachable that way ;). Put yourself in social situations where you can shine in the real world and not the digital world.

Stay Nspired,

Nicholan
