Frank Ocean Finally Releasing ‘Boys Don’t Cry” this Friday?

Could Frank Ocean be dropping his sophomore album this Friday, August 5th?

After teasing fans for over a year, the New York Times has reported that Frank Ocean’s new album, “Boys Don’t Cry,” will be released this Friday through an exclusive deal with Apple Music. The deal will keep the album exclusive through apple for two weeks and will also include a “major visual and printed publication.”

Ocean released his last album, Channel Orange, back in 2012 which included the lead single, Thinkin Bout You. Boys Don’t Cry will actually be his THIRD album if you include his 2011 effort, Nostalgia/ultra, which came off as being more of a mixtape. Regardless, the quality was absolutely album material.

Channel Orange was Ocean’s “coming out” album in more ways than one. It put him on the “mainstream” music radar while it was also the moment when he opened up to the world about his sexuality.
